The ICEHOTEL experience has got to be the most interesting thing I did this year.

Each year, they’ll build and design the hotel from scratch. It takes about 8 weeks to build the entire hotel. and the materials is a mix of ice and snow from the Torne River. The river moves so slowly that it allows the ice to form without bubbles and it’s almost crystal clear.

They also work with different designers (sometimes with artists who have never seen snow) to design the rooms. These rooms, as shown above are yours to stay everyday from 6pm-10am, otherwise it’s open for public to see and explore.

The whole experience was just so interesting! There was a briefing that we all have to go through to understand how to survive a night in the ICEHOTEL that’s a constant -2 degrees. We slept on a mattress that’s covered with reindeer skin on top the ice bed. We all sleep individually in our sleeping bag as well.

You may wonder how do we shower and use the washroom? In fact, there’s no facilities inside your room. Staying in the ice hotel is like staying in a luxurious hostels where everything is centralised in a building that’s next to all the ice rooms. So make sure you don’t drink water before you sleep, otherwise it’s REALLY cold to go to washroom in the middle of the night!

The Underwater Room off Pemba Island, Tanzania

Luxury underwater attractions have become a fashionable way of attracting the innovation-hungry crowds of the chic travellers, who seek not new penthouse check-ins but new experiences in unusual surroundings. No wonder the race to grab the crown of the most innovative underwater attraction seem to be heating up. A resort off the coast of Tanzania is putting a unique spin on the concept.

Hong Kong - Asian Food Edition

Hong Kong is my favourite city in the world. Not only because it has so much to offer but the food is absolutely amazing there. I put together a list of places I always like to eat whenever I’m there. I hope you’ll like them too!

Jakarta - A weekend of eating and spa

Whether you’re going to Jakarta for work or for leisure, you’ll find yourself in this massive city without knowing where to go or how to navigate anywhere. I’ve put together some of my favourite restaurants, bars and massage places. Feel free to let me know if you have more selections and I’ll make sure I’ll try it next time!
By far the best restaurant in terms of ambience and quality of Indonesian food. It’s definitely my favourite restaurant in Jakarta
Amazing Asian fusion and the cocktail is great there too
Mostly going there for drinks, ladies night is pretty good there but food is not bad too!
sky bar in Jakarta. amazing view, cocktails is average.
Potato Head GarageFable are pretty good for an awesome night out.
Cafe Batavia.
One of the few tourists attractions in Jakarta. It used to be a night club and turned into a cafe/ bar now. Food is average but it’s a must when you’re in jakarta. While you’re in the area, check out the old port with tons of Indonesian boat parked there as well. It’s pretty cool.
Spa & Massage
These 2 are pretty awesome spa places. A simple massage usually cost around SGD$15 and you can add on the pampering scrub and stuff and you’ll spend 3 hours in a spa spending only around SGD$60 max
If you just want an hour massage without the pampering, I went to Bersih Sehat. They have a number of outlet across Jakarta. Legit and pretty awesome massages, but nothing fancy and more like thai massage style.
I can’t begin to tell you how much I love this little one. She’s the absolute best! Welcome to this world #Kasily.

On our way up to the ICE HOTEL in Kiruna Sweden, we stopped by this small little town called Jokkmokk and joined a Northern Light Dog Sledding Tour by Jokkmokkguiderna.

Our guide Stina was amazing and I highly recommend these folks if you were ever going up north of Sweden. We’re wrapped in insulated clothing so we were extremely warm. The huskies are very friendly and it was really interesting to see how the dogs were so excited to go out and pull the sleds!

Half way through the tour, we stopped by for a short BBQ and hot chocolate break, and it made the whole journey so much more awesome. You get time to sit and chat over the fireplace and admire the beautiful night sky full of stars.

At the end of the tour, Stina drove us back to our hostel and ended a perfect night in this little town called Jokkmokk. One thing that you shouldn’t be missed is that they have an annual winter market. We didn’t know about this until we got there and we missed it by 1 day.

See you later #Malapascua. We truly enjoyed our stay here and we’ll be back for the lovely macro diving and #thresher sharks!
